The CD of the vocal jazz quintet Jazz5
showcases the results that modern teaching methods can attain, particularly in the area of jazz close harmony. The Hessian State Jazz Orchestra was chosen as the perfect partner for the big band parts.
Essence of Harmony
presents besides classic A-cappella-titles of great masters such as Gene Puerling, Phil Mattson and Steve Zegree pure and exclusive big band charts of famous composers and arrangers as Jan Wessels and Steve Gray as well as top class arrangements accompanied by big band. Some of these works are especially to be found on this CD.
